Core Values

I’m Michaela Russell Innovation Lead, I have worked at NHSSC for around six and a half years,  I originally joined as a category tower manager and during the last 3 years I have spent influencing the access to innovative products.  I have recently moved into the Clinical Directorate and leading on the development of our team charter, so when the opportunity came to be part of the values workstream I was keen to be involved and understand how we can build the awareness and outcome into our teams.

I’m Freddy Sadeghi, National Customer Voice Manager in the Voice of the Customer Team and I’ve been working at NHSSC for a grand 3 years! Prior to this role, I worked as a National Engagement Manager within the DHSC, as well as multiple roles within the NHS. Upon hearing that there was a forum to help shape our company values, I jumped at the opportunity as this is an area of great importance and value (excuse the pun).

The access and using the tool was self-explanatory, we were both keen to ensure we didn’t over think our responses and look at the options as ourselves to help identify and understand our core values. For both of us, the results were what we expected to see, and if we were able to include more in the ranks, we would have been able to highlight this. The exercise reaffirmed why we do what we do in day-to-day life, behaving and conducting ourselves to adhere to these values.

Both of us attending the same values workshop, which provided us with an open and nonjudgemental platform to discuss our values with colleagues and hear theirs too. It helped us to understand our own values and how other people saw the link between their values both in and out of work.

We were both grateful for the opportunity to learn more and reflect on our own values and the priority order they’re in. During the workshop it was evident through discussion how we all appreciated the inclusion into the development of the values ensuring it captures all.

It’s powerful that the business has provided multiple platforms for colleagues to share their values and evidence that we are a values driven organisation.

Colleagues have already been starting to share their values with each other, which is a beneficial exercise. The value activity and discussion will continue across both of our directorates, specifically the clinical directorate as it builds its team charter and ongoing strategy implementation.

We both look forward to the journey and seeing the outcome!
